Cara Delevingne always keeps us on our toes. The actress and model starred in the 2024 music video for Elton John's classic “Step Into Christmas.”

More than 50 years after the song's premiere, John decided to revive the song's relevance with a quirky shot-by-shot remake with a backstage twist. And the model-turned-actress greatly enhanced the festive kitsch in her part in the video:

“More than 50 years after Elton's performance, the ‘2024 Step into Christmas’ video starring Cara Delevingne, the video production team frantically prepares the set for Elton's arrival, attempting to make it “Christmassy enough.”

“Despite the addition of balloons and confetti,” the video's description goes on, “the turkey is still in the air.”

“Chaos reigns as Kara brilliantly shows Elton's choice dance moves and iconic facial expressions from the original video, while dealing with fans who surround the escaped turkey, fail to book the real reindeer, and storm the set.”

And as you can see from the following shots, Delevigne truly embodies John's sense of style, camp attitude, and 70s swagger.

“I saw Carla at Glastonbury last summer and told her I wanted to work with her if the right idea came to me,” John said in a statement.

“She is hilarious to be around and we both have a pretty self-deprecating sense of humor. When someone suggested the idea of her playing me in a riff on the 1973 'Step Into Christmas' video, I thought it was a perfect opportunity. I'm glad Kara thought the same way.

According to Delevigne, who previously updated some of his other classic songs with the current star, like his duet with Britney Spears, John has always been “her idol. It is no exaggeration to say that his music has had a profound influence on me. Being asked to PLAY for him in this recreation was a dream I never knew I had until it happened”

“Honestly, I wish I could be Elton every day. I hope that one day Elton will return the favor and agree to play me in my as yet undeveloped, unscripted, unplanned, and unfunded biopic,” she quipped. 'I'm praying.'
