Bella Hadid Goes Head-to-Toe with Winter's Rich Suede Trend
From Bottega Veneta to Ralph Lauren, when the rich winter suede trend began to dominate the runways, I thought I knew what real-life fashion would eventually look like. But on December 12, in the short time it took me to walk from the Bowery Hotel to my waiting Town Car, Bella Hadid proved me wrong.
Luxurious Western suede need not be limited to statement trench coats (like Selena Gomez's) or top-handle bags (like Jennifer Lopez's suede Birkin). Instead, this rich texture can be worn everywhere and all at once. Hadid wore the material with a double-breasted belted blazer and coordinating straight-leg pants. Stylist Molly Dixon sourced it from Hasbeen Vintage, a new boutique in Los Angeles.
Models accented their suede-on-suede outfits with striped crew-neck sweaters peeking out from under blazers. Rich black leather pointed-toe kitten heel pumps created pattern and through lines, as did Misoma's thick-rimmed glasses and pearl earrings. These little moments were enough to make her monochrome look feel less monotonous.
Hadid and Dixon are two for two when it comes to picking one color or texture and dressing with it. Just yesterday, the model and Yellowstone guest star left the hotel in an all-black outfit that paired rock star leather pants with a Scandi-chic scrunchie.
The last time Hadid turned a Lower Manhattan sidewalk into a catwalk, she and Dixon mixed vintage Saint Laurent and Roberto Cavalli with Gucci off loafers for a good old promo for her perfume brand. In the months since, she has also launched a new “Ôrebella' fragrance.”
