Sabrina Carpenter in micro micro shorts and leopard blazer

Thanks to a meticulously coordinated wardrobe and her stylist, Jared Ellner, it's hard to believe that Sabrina Carpenter is over 6 feet tall. [The secret is in the proportions: the petite pop star always pairs micro-mini hemlines with sky-high platform heels (see her Clueless plaid skirt suit and Aritzia mini dresses for proof). These exaggerated details make her legs look longer and longer, and as a result, Carpenter can easily pass for six feet tall (178 cm in men's height terms).

So far, the press tour for her Nonsense Christmas Special has been exhibit after exhibit of optical illusion dressing. On December 10, for example, the pop star was photographed on a freezing cold New York street, wearing almost nothing from the waist down.

The focal point of her outfit when she stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert was a vintage leopard fur-trimmed blazer designed by Susan by Night for Lily Robin. She paired it with sheer black tights and short shorts so short they were barely visible.

As always, her footwear was a pair of millennial-era round-toe leather platform pumps. True to Fran Fine's aesthetic (in fact, Fran Fine wore this set in the pilot episode of The Nanny), Carpenter completed her 90s “fit” with a boxy briefcase-style bag and matching leopard beret.

Her choice of hat made her the latest celebrity to style the leopard print trend that is sweeping the streets of New York. She finished off the spotted look with a diamond ring and XL studs from Ring Concierge.

This look fits Carpenter's seasonal aesthetic perfectly. The singer channeled her Sabrina Claus Netflix alter ego with lots of plush faux fur. Last week, she wore a vintage Chanel fur bodycon dress to host a variety show screening. She paired it with a matching jacket and fur stilettos.

Carpenter's dedication to proportion dressing, even in the bitter cold, is truly admirable.
