"Cross" Season 2: Everything We Know
2024-11-14, the crime thriller Cross of Prime Video introduced their new favorite detective to TV fans. Based on James Patterson's popular crime novel, the murder mystery series uses Alex Cross, his PhD in psychology to investigate a serial killer, in Washington, D.C.c.It stars Aldis Hodge as a base detective. In Cross's first season, crime Solver is plagued by both his latest case, the murder of a beloved local activist, and the unsolved murder of his beloved wife a year ago.
After eight pulse-pounding episodes, Cross ends up with both the mysteries of the first season being solved, but as any fan of the source novel knows, on the horizon There is always another case.
In a nice change from the usual streaming show, more episodes of Cross were lit green before the first season premiered. For each deadline, Cross received a Season 1 update on May 7, 2024, 4 months before Season 2 arrived in Prime Video. The series also has already found new cast members for the new season (more on them later).
With the second season of Cross getting such an early update, it's likely that new episodes will come sooner rather than later. Another good news for fans: Series creator Ben Watkins confirmed that Cross Season 2 has already finished filming.
The exact release date is expected to be determined, but hopefully Cross Season 2 will be released within 2025 at the latest by 11-1.
In addition to the titular man himself (played by Alex Cross), the main cast of Cross is all made up of Isaiah Mustafa (John Sampson), Juanita Jennings (Regina Cross), Caleb Elijah (Damon Cross), Melody Hurd (John Sampson). It is likely to return to the show's new season, with the likes of Chanel Cross (Elle), Samantha Walks (Elle), Jennifer Wigmore (Chief Anderson), Sharon Taylor (Lieutenant Massey) and Mercedes de la Zelda (Amelyn Vega) among others.(You can also find a lot of them), Stacey Greenwell (Shawna de Lucknor), and Arona Tal (Kayla Craig). Bobby Trey, who plays former police officer Johnny Ray Gill, will also reportedly be back in more episodes.
One big question is whether Ryan Eggold will reprise his role as Ed Ramsey,a.k.A Fanboy Killer who made it out of Season 1 is alive.Although imprisoned. In an interview with a TV insider, Egggold was shy about the possibility that Ramsey would come back with a future cross episode, Outlet We discussed things, but yeah, I don't know what to say."
But the New Amsterdam Alum shared that it would be fun to see Ramsey connect with Cross from prison. "Cross is so smart, a kind of good profiler, he can break down people's egos, psychology, etc., and I think Ramsey can do that too," he said. "I think he, for all his shortcomings, is intelligent and competent. The two of them. Something to work together or to understand the mind of a murderer or something. It would be fun."
Eggold also added that with Ramsey locked up in prison, "it would be interesting to see what situations he uses, how he manipulates and gets better situations."
With each deadline, you'll see Cross Season 2 Wes Chatham, Matthew Lillard and Jeanine Mason join the cast. Chatham, who has previously starred in Expanse and Akosha, reportedly plays "Donnie, a hard-edged military veteran with far-right political views and a sensitive heart"Scream, Scooby-doo, and good girl Alum Lillard are set to play "Lance, a ruthless, self-made businesswoman." Business tycoon."
In the meantime, Alum Mason will reportedly perform because you think you can dance" Rebecca, a brilliant, ambitious and vengeful judge."
Cross is not a direct adaptation of any of Patterson's books, but Watkins has confirmed that Season 2 will introduce a new killer, as the original author tells Entertainment Weekly, and the series treats each season as its own book. He added that each installment "enters the [new] killer world," while also building on its central character relationships.
Watkins also added that Season 2 will focus on some of the show's supporting roles, especially Alex's best friends and partners. "We can peel the layers off to John and see a little bit of his backstory and see him deal with the emotions," the creators say. "You've seen how good he is at holding his friends accountable and helping his friends navigate deep emotions. You don't see how he would do it if it was he had to face it.
Some of Cross's cast are making fun of the Season 2 killer's going to be a "really bumpy ride," Samantha Walks tells TV Insider, asking the audience, "Really, what is a monster?""And if the season 2 audience first answered it for themselves, I'd like to see it, because sometimes monsters aren't really monsters. Sometimes the monsters under the bed are not what we think. And it's really just a human being.”
