Jennifer Lopez Confirms Elegant Fall Soap Nails Are On Trend

This weekend at New York Fashion Week, the Spring 2025 runway, designers are all shifting to maximalist hair and makeup. But that's for next season. Jennifer Lopez wants simple fall soap nails to reign supreme on the trend.

On Friday, September 6, the Atlas star arrived at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Unstoppable in a mirrored Tamara Ralph gown best described as a revenge dress. However, a noticeably minimal manicure was a chic juxtaposition to the statement dress. The square shapes, dubbed “mannequin nails” by go-to nail artist Tom Bachik, were polished in nude, soapy shades.

They were an A-list favorite of Meghan Markle, Zendaya, and others who spent the summer nail-obsessed; J.Lo isn't the only one who will be embracing this look in September and beyond. Bacik previously told Marie Claire, “For pure, minimalist elegance, soap nails will last well into the fall.” 'Freshly manicured, flawless nails, meticulously cuticles, natural square shapes, and shiny buffed finishes.' The look is a bit reminiscent of the bubble bath nail trend, but favors nude undertones over shades of white and pink.

“I wanted to go tone-on-tone and have the nails match the skin,” Bacik captioned Lopez's premier night look on Instagram. To create an elegant look, he cleaned the actress' cuticles with his namesake Tweezerman kit and filed her nails into squovals (a combination of a square and an oval). He then used the Apres Burnt Blush from the Light & Shadows Collection to perfectly match Lopez's olive undertones.

You can absolutely go from nail to nail with Lopez and use this shade, but the key to the fall soap nail trend is to match your specific skin tone. Here are some of my favorite nude nail polishes.
