Gigi Hadid dresses for the “Deadpool & Wolverine” premiere in the Miu Miu technique.
For the past year, A-listers have been intentionally playing on-screen characters on the red carpet. Margot Robbie sparked the trend with her Barbie press tour, followed by Florence Pugh's “Dune”: and most recently, Zendaya's Challenger-inspired “fit.” And now Gigi Hadid is taking on method dressing, wearing Miu Miu to the premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine”.
Hadid is not actually in the film, but she was the most photographed attendee at the New York premiere on July 22. The model wore Wolverine's signature color, golden yellow, from head to toe, alongside Deadpool's wife, Blake Lively (who naturally wore a Versace catsuit). Hadid worked with her longtime stylist, Mimi Cutrell, to create a dandelion gold look.
Though inspired by Marvel's superhero uniforms, her look was by no means costume-y. Hadid's full Miu Miu look made her the mood board for the most talked about fashion trend of 2024. She wore a mustard leather bandana top and matching skirt, styled with a boxy Arcadi bag and the brand's famous strap slingback.
Her bags were also styled for the times with a smattering of kitschy charms and key chains (a recent trend that was all the rage on the runway). Logo luggage tags, oversized heart charms, and Deadpool keychains.
Stacked with jumbo-sized bangles, Hadid's wrists were a jumble of dark wood, shimmering metal, and creamy resin. Dangling statement earrings were in the same vein, with marbled stones. Black nail polish was also Wolverine-inspired, with each nail slashed with jagged yellow.
For the fashion fanatic at home, this set probably rings a bell deep in your style subconscious. The set has been on several, including Sydney Sweeney, who wore an embellished version styled by Molly Dixon at the 2024 Met Gala after-party, and Kylie Jenner, who wore an all-black version earlier this summer. They are in rotation for celebrities.
One thing is for sure, both Miu Miu and Method Dressing are having incredible years.
