This is an ode to the creative design spirit found at the Met Gala, and this DIY challenge does not require an invitation to one of the most exclusive events in the fashion world.

Instagram users enthusiastically took up the challenge, creating "gowns" out of everything from trash bags to shower curtains to cardboard boxes.
