Jennifer Lopez styles her much talked about low rise flare jeans with velvet heels and an unusual Birkin bag.
Regardless of occupation, age, social class, or aesthetics, there is a combination that almost everyone has worn at least once.
These two items constitute a timeless uniform that fits almost any occasion and offers endless opportunities to personalize. Kendall Jenner, for example, likes to pair straight-leg denim with a vintage-style fitted blazer. Katie Holmes, on the other hand, often pairs baggy styles with brightly colored suit jackets. I, on the other hand, am currently obsessed with pairing these studded Reformation jeans with my favorite oversized black blazer.
On December 15, Jennifer Lopez put a new spin on this age-old combination when she attended a screening of her new film, Unstoppable. She embodied the groovy 70s aesthetic and wore powder blue (one of the biggest trending colors of the era) from head to toe.
She chose a cornflower blazer with wide notch lapels and contrasting velvet trim. A chiffon blouse was also from the same period, featuring buttons at the front and a bow at the neck. Lopez kept the retro vibe consistent throughout the “fit” with low-rise flared jeans in a similar light blue wash. This tight-fitting style is controversial because it is the polar opposite of today's denim trend, which is dominated by baggy styles.
The actor used accessories to break up the cloud-like color storyline. Lopez chose a pair of dusty rose velvet platform pumps and finished it off with a chalice-like handbag. Her ivory croc bourquin added a modern touch that made the old-school outfit feel appropriate for today.
