Princess Charlotte inherited one of Princess Diana's favorites.

Princess Diana never met her grandchildren, but it turns out that one of them shares a special hobby that the late royal once enjoyed.

In a video shared by Sky News on TikTok, Kate Middleton revealed that Princess Charlotte is a huge ballet fan, just like her late grandmother. Princess Diana began taking private dance lessons immediately after her marriage to Prince Charles (now King Charles), and according to The Sun, 9-year-old Charlotte also “takes weekly private ballet lessons at a dance school in south London.”

Ballet is not the young princess's only dance. According to the magazine, the Crown Princess also recently told a young girl, “My daughter Charlotte loves to dance; she loves ballet and tap. Keep up the dancing.”

Princess Kate also shared a particularly sweet story about her daughter's passion for ballet while chatting with singer Paloma Faith at the annual Together at Christmas Royal Carol Concert on December 6.

The royal said she did not want to tell Charlotte that Royal Ballet dancers were scheduled to perform during the carol service, and enlisted Prince Louis' help to keep the secret. [Because he wanted it to be a surprise to Charlotte, who loves ballet. Then he said, I promise, I promise, I won't say anything.”

Fortunately, six-year-old Louis was able to keep the secret and Charlotte was able to enjoy a special holiday performance with her family at Westminster Abbey.

As Anne Allan, Princess Diana's dance teacher, notes in her memoir Dancing With Diana, Louis was not the only one who was good at keeping royal secrets.

Princess Diana once shocked an audience by taking the stage at a charity event and performing a surprise rendition of “Uptown Girl” for Prince Charles. No one but Alan and famous dancer Wayne Sleep knew of her plan, but as viewers of “The Crown” know, the secret performance completely backfired.

Prince Charles “simply said, ‘Well done, darling,’ and tried to talk to someone,” Alan wrote. The dance teacher added that Diana “later admitted that Prince Charles did not think it was appropriate” for her to dance in public. Nevertheless, Princess Diana continued with her dance lessons, and Diana must be pleased that Charlotte is carrying on her legacy.
