Sofia Richie updates her “rich girl uniform” with a preppy striped cardigan and $119 bag.
Searches for “quiet luxury” have reportedly dropped 25% in recent months, but Sophia Ritchie Grainge continues to find new ways to deliver rich-girl style. As “Gilmore Girls” fans know, there is nothing more appropriate than a private school uniform to show off a family's wealth.
Grainge brings her “Just Accepted by Chilton” energy to the new holiday campaign for Tommy Hilfiger, a brand long favored by the wealthy. She eschewed the typical Christmas party bling and dressed in a collection of understated preppy separates that could transcend the season.
True to the old-school Catholic school uniform, Grainge styled a pleated miniskirt with tights and a cream silk button-down. But instead of a standard blazer, she opted for a chunky knit cardigan printed with Hilfiger's signature stripes.
Like other rich girls, Grainge used simple but elegant accessories to express opulence. She chose a yellow gold chain belt to match her brass buttons and a dainty circular pendant around her neck. The casually glittering adornments helped to elevate her sober “fit.”
While her outfit looked expensive, at least the handbag was quite affordable. She carried a black leather micro mini tote bag embossed with the brand's monogram. Despite its obviously luxe appearance, the accessory cost less than $120 ($119 to be exact) and is still available on Tommy Hilfiger's website.
Rory Gilmore would have been very proud during his Chilton days.
