Flamingo's new Glow shaving collection holds the secret to stubble-free shaving

One thing about Me: I refuse to have body hair. My armpits and the whole of my bikini line have undergone many laser hair removal sessions, and every time I make a concerted effort to shave my legs and arms I shower — even though I've been wearing sweatpants and jeans for 60 consecutive days.

Still, stubble persists.

I've tried all the best razors and shaving creams, but even a solid combo doesn't always make your feet feel like the slippery side of a dolphin or a serum-drenched face mask. That's where Flamingo's latest launch, the Glow Shave collection, comes into the chat. This kit consists of three products: pre-shave Smoothing Shave Scrub, nourishing shave oil and soothing shave serum. It is supposed to be the ideal recipe for a close and clean shave.

I like scrubs as good as the next girl to embark on all her showers, and body serum is frankly everywhere. (Although I must say that the coconut and lavender scents of this are particularly pleasant. Think about it: Drinking Mai Tai in Tahiti. But the nourishing shave oil was a real standout for me.

There is shaving oil, I do not get wrong. Mode and Athena Club offer 2 excellent options (the latter is a favorite of Marie Claire Beauty Director, Hannah Baxter). But the fragrance generally irritates my sensitive skin and I can't really wash away the texture. With its claim to be "safe for sensitive skin" and its formula boasting a moisturizing blend of coconut, argan and avocado, the coconut and amber-scented flamingo oil looked particularly attractive.

The only thing left to do is test it. I somehow made room for this trio in my overflowing shower (see photo above for proof) and started my ride-or-die Gilette disposable or shaving experience with a

flamingo scrub. A little goes a long way - I used Twizzler bite-sized sachets. It has a taste profile of coconut and bergamot that's a bit masculine for my personal taste, but the crushed coconut shell helped me brush scabs on my ankles in a gentle way. My only word of warning: You need a towel to get off the gritty.

Then it's time to try piece de la résistance—shaving oil. It comes out transparent and watery, but when I massaged my feet for the 2nd time, the formula turned into a white, almost creamy texture reminiscent of an incredibly thin shaving cream. I coated my entire calf with one pump, rinsed my hands and grabbed my blunt razor (for context, I already used this guy four times).

When the blade hit my skin at medium pressure and I started pulling up, I realized I was in for treatment. The oil did not clog my razor or required constant running under water to clean it. I worked my way through the entire foot before tapping off the product. One stroke caught all the hair, leaving me with the most baby soft skin I've ever touched. Dramatic, I know, but I'm not exaggerating. It's a beard after 1 hour and I'm sure my upper thigh never grew hair first.

I ended the routine with a tiny little bit of soothing shaving serum to lock in moisture (the scent of coconut and lavender, while fun, is pretty strong), wearing some pajamas, and cozied up on my just-clean sheet.

I have several hours to go to bed, but I strongly suspect that I am dreaming of the next shower until the morning.
