Beyonce Chops Platinum's “Cowboy Carter” Wave on Icy Blonde Bob
Beyonce has become the latest celebrity to jump on the bobbed hair bandwagon. After sporting icy blonde Old Hollywood waves on the cover of GQ a few weeks ago, Beyoncé, founder of Cécred hair care, appears to have trimmed off a few inches and replaced her long layers with a chin-length bob.
On Monday, September 23, fans got their first good look at her new cut in a series of images shared from a recent shoot Beyoncé did for her whiskey brand, Sir Davis. The Instagram photo dump begins with a portrait of Queen Bee in a monotone brown suit and a chocolate brown cowboy hat, perched atop a platinum bob styled by Siona Turini. But Mrs. Cowboy Carter, a fashion maximalist to the core, didn't stop there. She further adorned the cut with statement diamond drop earrings that were even longer than her silver hair.
The hatless cut can be seen in the second photo of the carousel. Standing at the entrance to a makeshift speakeasy, Beyoncé's bob is curled inward in a style strongly reminiscent of actor Nastassja Kinski's iconic blonde bob in the 1984 film Paris, Texas.
What literally takes this look to the next level is the amount of teasing clearly done to the crown of Beyonce's voluminous bob. The former Texas pageant queen star surely learned her styling techniques at a young age. In the South, tease and hairspray are essential to protect hair from the humidity that makes it soggy and lifeless.
It's not just fresh chops (or fresh wigs) that Beyoncé has been casually revealing lately. The same day she showed off her icy blonde bob, Levi's tagged her in an Instagram post, hinting at an upcoming collaboration. How far will Beyoncé's newness go?
