Nobody Wants This” Season 2: Everything We Know

Here you go, rom-com fans: you're going to want to see Nobody Wants This. Just six words to prove it: Adam Brody plays a hot rabbi. Adam Brody, from the internet favorite “The O.C.,” co-stars with Kristen Bell in this 10-episode Netflix romance series created by Erin Foster and inspired by her own experience as a shiksa (non-Jewish woman) who fell in love with a Jewish man. In the series, Bell plays Joanne, an agnostic sex and dating podcaster. He quickly hits it off with the unconventional and cool Rabbi Noah (Brody), and although the two seem perfect for each other, they must overcome social obstacles that interfere with their relationship, including family sabotage and Noah's dream of becoming chief rabbi.

At the end of the premiere season, which premiered on Netflix on September 26, 2024, Noah and Joanne's romance is far from over, and fans are wondering when this must-see TV series will return for more tantalizing episodes. Below is everything we know so far about “Nobody Wants This” Season 2.

As of the show's release date, Netflix has not said whether “Nobody Wants This” will be renewed for Season 2. As with most productions, the streaming giant will likely wait a few weeks for viewership numbers to determine if the rom-com is popular enough to warrant an investment in further episodes.

Depending on when Netflix allows a second season to air, “Nobody Wants This” could return for season two relatively soon; according to What's On Netflix, the rom-com series was filmed between January and April 2024, with a final September debuted in September. With such a fast timeline, perhaps new episodes will appear before the end of 2025.

In addition to stars Kristen Bell (Joanne) and Adam Brody (Noah), the regular cast of Nobody Wants This could all return for season 2, including Justin Rupe (Morgan), Timothy Simmons (Sasha) Jackie Tone (Esther), Emily Ehrlich (Rebecca), Shelley Kohler (Ashley), Tovah Feldieu (Bina), Paul Ben-Victor (Ilan), Stephanie Faracy (Lynn), and Michael Hitchcock (Henry). Hopefully, Darcy Carden will return as Joanne's friend Liang, and her and Bell's mini “Good Place” reunion will continue.

“Nobody Wants This” Season 1 Finale Spoilers Ahead “Nobody Wants This” season 1 ends with Joanne and Noah's future in doubt. (When Joanne crashes Miriam's Bat Mitzvah in the Big Apple and tells Noah she has decided to convert to Judaism, all seemed headed for a happy ending. (Charlotte York herself in Sex and the City.) But as the night wore on, Joanne began to realize that she was not ready to make a very personal transition, and that she was not ready to take on the pressure of representing her faith as a rabbi's wife. By the end of the night, Noah was under a cloud to be the next chief rabbi, but Joan admitted to him that she was not ready to convert and did not know if she ever would be.

Noah still wanted to work things out, but Joanne ended the relationship by telling a devastated Noah, “I can't have it both ways and I'm not going to let you choose.” As Joanne boarded the shuttle to leave the party, the two seemed to accept the heartbreaking reality. But when she got out in the parking lot, Noah was already waiting for her by her car. 'You were right. You can't have it both ways,' he told her, kissing her passionately. And so “Nobody Wants This” Season 1 came to an end.

Following this dramatic cliffhanger, “Nobody Wants This” Season 2 will likely feature the two fighting to make their relationship work, despite further backlash. Noah's family will not be happy that he chose Joanne over his rabbinic teaching job, and the cost may weigh heavily on Noah once the excitement of the final kiss cools. Meanwhile, Joan still has a lot to learn about Judaism and we will have to wait and see if she decides to convert not only for Noah's sake but also for her own. Here's hoping that all will be well for this lovebirds in the end (after a few more seasons, of course).
