Are Kaylor Martin and Aaron Evans of Love Island USA still dating?
Spoilers ahead for all episodes of “Love Island USA” Season 6. One of the biggest reality shows of the summer, “Love Island USA,” came to an emotional conclusion on Sunday, July 21. Not only was it the most-watched reality show in the U.S. during its run, but it also transitioned to streaming on Peacock this season. While long-lasting couples are rare on any dating show (even one that touts building a genuine connection like “Love Is Blind”), “Love Island” is uniquely set up to air its six-week season at roughly the same time as the show itself. This means that viewers can watch each couple's love story almost as it unfolds.
In the case of Love Island USA Season 6 standouts Kaylor Martin and Aaron Evans, that meant following both heartbreaking moments and a fair amount of heartbreak together. Still, the two have stood strong since the show ended, leaving many to wonder if they are together now that they have re-entered the real world. Read on to find out everything we know about Kayla and Aaron's relationship so far, both during and after “Love Island USA.”
Kaylor, 22, and Aaron, 26, both appeared on the show as part of the original cast of 12 and were paired together in their first coupling. The girl from Connellsville, Pennsylvania, and the Englishman (who had won the first season of The Traitors UK) remained loyal throughout the show, but when all the couples split into two villas and several new singles joined them, they were no Casa Amor They were no match. (If this setup sounds familiar, it's because every subsequent dating show like “Perfect Match” has done some version of this.)
Kaylor and Aaron never re-coupled with another person after their time apart, but Kaylor was heartbroken when she learned that Aaron had kissed and shared a bed with new addition Daniela Ortiz-Rivera. Kaylor decided to stay single after their first reconciliation after “Casa Amor,” but Aaron knew he had made a mistake and worked hard to regain her trust. After their reconciliation, they remained a couple until day 30 (July 19), when they were eliminated from the island in a final dumping before the season 6 finale. Kayla and Aaron eventually exited in fifth and sixth place, leaving the other Day 1 couple, Selina Page and Cordell Beckham, to win it all.
Since dating shows are often filmed months (or even a full year) before they air, inquiries as to whether they are still together usually require a little poking around on Instagram. In the case of Love Island, the entire final cast just got their phones back in the last few days. Judging by the first post, both Kaylor and Aaron are spending time together in LA, where they are still looking back fondly on their time on “Love Island” and sharing photos from the shoot.
According to StyleCaster, Aaron also hinted at some behind-the-scenes drama on the show; later in the Q&A, when asked whether “Love Island USA” or “Traitors” was more difficult, he accused the producers of testing his and Kaylor's relationship He said.
He said, “In ‘Love Island USA,’ the stronger you are as a couple, the more challenging it is. I can't say that much about it because it's not allowed. But they challenge you very hard, and that's definitely an aspect I wouldn't have considered being a part of. So I'm happy.”
Meanwhile, Kaylor has also been candid about the challenges he faced with Aaron; according to Us Weekly, Kaylor, who appeared on the podcast “The Viall Files” on July 24, admitted that he does not know everything that happened at the villa and described Aaron's behavior at Casa Amor and called Aaron's behavior at Casa Amor “very disrespectful.” She admitted that while she “definitely” has her doubts about their relationship, she intends to see where it goes. [I'm 22, so I have a lot of time to fall in love, break up, fall for someone else, go out, and kiss a bunch of guys. So dating Aaron is a big risk. I'm 22 and I'm allowed to take risks.”
“It tells me what I want in a relationship and what I don't,” Kaylor added. 'It could work, but I'm 22. But I'm 22. With Aaron, I'm definitely taking a big, big risk and I'm really scared. I think everything happens for a reason.”
The lovebirds seem to be in relatively good shape after their time together in paradise, but we'll have to see how their relationship develops in the coming weeks. Depending on how they get along in the real world, there may be more tears to be shed in the Season 6 reunion special.
