Angelina Jolie takes her two daughters to meet Ethiopia's first female president.

Angelina Jolie (opens in new tab) is sharing her passion for international humanitarianism with her children.

Earlier this week, the actress took four of her six children (opens in new tab), Zahara, 14, Shilo, 13, and 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, on a trip to Ethiopia. The family reportedly stayed there for New Year's Eve, but for Jolie's two oldest daughters, the tip was also a great learning experience.

Shilo and Zahra (who was born in the African country) joined their mother for a meeting with Ethiopia's first female president, Sahale-Work Zewde. According to [People (opens in new tab)], the group "discussed education, sanitary napkin solutions for girls to continue their schooling (girls often stay home during menstruation due to lack of supplies), Ethiopian culture and history," and "Jolly's ongoing efforts to cure drug-resistant TB." We discussed the following.

Jolie has been funding these efforts for more than a decade now through the Zahara Program, apparently named after her daughter (open in new tab). The Jolie Pitt Foundation also partnered with the Global Health Commission and the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health in 2009 to launch an initiative to treat drug-resistant TB.
