Kylie Jenner Donates $1 Million to Australia Fire Relief Following Backlash

Kylie Jenner has donated $1 million to relief efforts for the devastating wildfires currently ravaging Australia, People reported (opens in new tab). The generous donation follows a wave of vitriolic backlash directed at the 22-year-old beauty mogul.

Jenner initially shared a post via her Instagram Stories, spreading awareness about the wildfires and encouraging fans to donate toward relief efforts. However, shortly after the post calling for support, Jenner posted an ill-timed image showing a pair of $1,480 mink fur Louis Vuitton slippers.

According to People, Jenner had no malicious intent when she posted the image of the slippers and was deeply committed to helping Australia recover in any way she could.

"That post was completely unintentional," a source explained to People. Kylie stands behind her desire to help provide relief for the devastation caused by the massive fire."

Jenner's donation follows that of her sister, Kim Kardashian West, who tweeted (now deleted) a social media user claiming that the reality star's tweet about the importance of climate change did not mean she had actually donated to relief efforts responded. [The tweet said: "Nothing gets me hotter than seeing the Kardashians/Jenners talk about climate change/wildfires and not donate a penny."

The tweet also said.

Kardashian West quickly replied (opens in new tab), stating that not all of her family's humanitarian efforts need to be aired for the sake of publicity.

"Nothing gets me hotter than seeing people who know what we donated and think we have to publicize it all," she wrote.
