Ever since we got word this past October that Peter Weber ripped his forehead (opens in new tab) while filming The Bachelor season (opens in new tab), everyone has been wondering: what happened? And how does the show intend to handle this? Weber wears his wounds well (and dare I say, a little sexily), but.

Being a mild germaphobe, when I first learned about this, a) I did not enjoy the details of this story, and b) I was not sure how I was going to enjoy the details of this story. Seriously, take a look. Here is what we know.

Update 2/13: In a move not uncommon for "The Bachelor," this whole event was portrayed as quite dramatic - until the episode actually aired and Weber explained what actually happened. As Weber explained to the contestants, he basically hit his head on a golf cart (Weber, happens to the best of us), hit his head on the glass he was carrying (ouch), and it broke.

Obviously, it was a pretty serious injury, but basically... It wasn't particularly dramatic.

According to the original article Us Weekly, Weber "ripped his face open". (It took two hours to drive from the track to the hospital in San Jose, where he received 22 stitches in his face". Weber was holding two pairs of glasses and fell on them. According to Radar (opens in new tab), it was two cocktail glasses (OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW). 'He drove two hours to the hospital because this hospital had a surgeon who specialized in his injuries. He had surgery," a source told Us Weekly (insert emoji of vomiting).

Harrison downplayed the incident, saying, "Peter had an accident. He got a cut on his head. He got stitches, but he is 100% okay and production has already resumed. He is still the dashing, handsome pilot we all dreamed of." But can you imagine how loudly the producers screamed when they found out?

Fans first noticed the scars when Webber returned to social media and began posting videos on Instagram Stories (opens in new tab). In his public appearances, his makeup artists were very good at hiding the scars."

In an interview with The Ringer's Juliette Littman (opens in new tab), the scars can be seen more clearly, but they are still there: [The following photos are from a January 2020 16th at an aviation event, and you can see it is still painful without makeup.

However! Sometimes the scars can be completely hidden by makeup, as during the press tour a week before the above photo was taken. That's the magic of concealer, isn't it?

Weber is now 'He's The Boy Who Lived' (by splitting his face and getting 22 stitches)! I didn't mean to make a Harry Potter joke. Pfft. And I'm not alone in this:
