Little Fires Everywhere", Is Izzy the mastermind behind the house fire?

This week, Hulu delivered the first three episodes of the highly anticipated miniseries Little Fires Everywhere, a drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington and based on the best-selling book by Celeste Ng. The remaining five episodes will air every Wednesday for the next five weeks: on March 25, April 1, April 8, April 15, and April 22. Those who have already watched the first three episodes and are eager to see more probably have big questions on their minds. For example, are Pearl and Moody dating or not?" or "Who started that huge house fire we saw at the beginning of the first episode?

We know it was arson. That much became clear within the first five minutes of the show. 'The fire chief (I assume?) explains to Elena, aka Reese Witherspoon. In other words, according to the aforementioned fire chief, the Richardson family's house was intentionally burned down. Elena was inside the house. This means that the central premise of this program is now in place: who hated Elena so much that they wanted to burn her alive?

The fire chief thinks it was Izzy, and the audience thinks it must be Izzy. Izzy is a 14-year-old rebellious, depressed, isolated adolescent who likes to burn candles and hair (this hint is not subtle) and has a love-hate relationship with her family. It's pretty normal for a 14-year-old, except that Izzy has the potential to burn down his parents' house. Along with his mother. [Little Fires Everywhere is based on Celeste Ng's book of the same name, so viewers who can't wait don't have to wait. (Little Fires Everywhere is based on Celeste Ng's book of the same name.) In the book, Izzy, attached to Pearl (Mia's daughter, played by Kerry Washington), watches as Pearl is betrayed by Izzy's brothers, Moody and Trip, and Lexie. In retaliation, Izzy sets fire to the bed of the lonely and depressed brothers. At the time, Izzy thinks Elena has left home (obviously not true), but she manages to escape. After the fire, Izzy runs away, vowing never to return. [Izzy's brothers and mother immediately assume that Izzy started the fire, so the viewer reads through the episode waiting to be proven wrong. It is a convincing twist that Izzy is not actually the arsonist, but the show, like the book before it, humanizes her to the point where the character's actions make sense.
