New York is still in PAUSE, so I limit my outings and work from home, but I'm not always in the house; I try to take a long walk every other day, usually through Prospect Park. If that's not possible, I at least walk around the block. At first it was cool enough that I kept the two things I always carry (keys and cell phone) in my coat pocket, but now that the weather has warmed up, it's sweltering in the jacket I put on express to carry the essentials. (There is also the option of carrying them in your hand, but that doesn't seem ideal in these days of washing your hands before touching your face.)

That's where the coach handbag comes in. Since I spend most of my time at work using Slack, sending emails, and looking at screens, thinking about my phone is the last thing I want to do. So Coach's red vintage "Scooter" bag is the perfect vessel to give me a little distance from temptation. Yet, if I have something urgent to do, I can open it right away. The bag is roomy enough to hold keys, and would also hold a card holder and a small wallet. With two compartments, you could theoretically put something "clean" in one pocket and something potentially "infected" in the other and still keep them isolated from each other. Red is a great color for summer and just a little pop.

I got this bag on eBay. It's really a "scooter bag" and the coach number is 9893. my other favorites are "The Station", "The Willis", and "The Casino". While I love the early Bonnie Cashin-era Coach designs, I can't imagine taking good care of a handbag, especially one with a hefty price tag and a tendency to be a little rough with my handbags.
