Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice will not be spending Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham
As the royal family prepares to gather at Sandringham for the holiday season, two royals will not be in attendance. According to new reports, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will miss the traditional royal Christmas celebration in favor of their own low-key plans.
“Hello! magazine reports that Eugenie and Beatrice will not travel to Sandringham, Norfolk, and are expected to celebrate Christmas with their respective in-laws. Their parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, also chose not to attend King Charles and Queen Camilla's Christmas, opting instead to spend it together at their home, the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
“Beatrice and Eugenie will spend the Christmas period with their respective in-laws for the first time since their marriage,” Hello! reported. Eugenie wed Jack Brooksbank in October 2018, and they have two sons, August and Ernest. Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020. The couple is raising a daughter, Siena, and a son, Wolfie, with Mozzi's previous boyfriend, and are expecting their second baby.
It was previously reported that Princess Eugenie would be spending Christmas in California with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. At the time, the Express reported, “It is a very difficult position for Eugenie, as she has also been invited to Sandringham.
However, the report also suggested that Eugenie and her husband might instead join Meghan and Harry after Christmas. Sources claim, “It would be great for the kids to be able to spend time with their cousins.” 'Their schedule is very tight over the holiday season, but they may be free around New Year's.'
The London Times, meanwhile, suggested that Prince Andreu may not be invited away from Christmas at Sandringham amid multiple scandals. The paper reported that Prince Charles has been linked to allegations of Chinese espionage, “raising the possibility that his brother could be barred from joining other families walking to church at Sandringham on Christmas Day.”
