Michelle Obama matches her trendy cherry mocha nails with Bottega Veneta earrings.
Michelle Obama is just like us: in the midst of the holiday season, she's ready to try the casually glamorous nail trend.
The former first lady stopped by the Jennifer Hudson Show on December 17 in a full fit Bottega Veneta styled by Meredith Koop. The backstage crew sang a remixed version of Stevie Wonder's “I Wish,” inserting the lyrics to the song as Obama crooned about how happy he was to grace the show. Obama clapped his hands and showed off his cherry mocha manicure, a nail color trend for this winter.
Obama's nails were filed into medium-length almond shapes. Each finger was then painted a deep brown-burgundy shade, a moody take on the trend that has taken TikTok by storm this fall/winter. Obama accessorized with a wedding band, a chunky gold ring, and teardrop earrings by Bottega Veneta. Their burgundy ombre coordinated perfectly with the blood-red hue of her fingertips.
Her cherry mocha manicure, like Obama's, was bold yet minimalist. Still, the shade itself is very eye-catching and often serves as a pop of color against the darker fashion palettes that tend to dominate in the fall and winter months.
Hollywood celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, and even Angelina Jolie have been spotted sporting cherry mocha nails in recent weeks. If you've glanced at your social media pages lately, you can bet that this manicure has appeared somewhere on your “page for you.”
