Princess Michael of Kent breaks both wrists in a “scary fall” before attending King Charles' pre-Christmas lunch.

Princess Michael of Kent suffered a terrible accident before Christmas, but it did not stop her from attending a festive luncheon hosted by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.

Earlier this week, a number of royals arrived at Buckingham Palace and were photographed attending the annual pre-Christmas luncheon hosted by the monarch. Prince Andrew did not attend, but Princess Michael of Kent was seen arriving by car with her husband. The royal looked remarkably well despite having broken both wrists in what the “Express” described as a “horrific fall.”

According to GB News, Princess Michael Kent fell down the stairs of her Kensington Palace residence and was injured trying to stop the fall. She was carrying an armful of overcoat when the accident occurred, and the fall was cushioned by the coat. She did, however, fracture several small bones when she put out her hand to stop the fall.”

Princess Michael of Kent, speaking to Majesty Magazine about the horrific accident, explained (from GB News) that “a lot of things we rely on being able to do, like cleaning our teeth, are impossible.” She continued. I'm told that after an accident like this, one wrong move on an unhealed bone and you're back to square one.”

The Princess also opened up about the tragic death of her daughter's husband, Thomas Kingston: in February, it was reported that Lady Gabriella's husband had died at the young age of 45, and a subsequent autopsy revealed that Kingston had died from “traumatic head trauma” caused by suicide.

“Tom was a wonderful man, so kind and caring,” Princess Michael told Majesty magazine (via Hello!) “They were so happy. They used to come for Sunday lunch with Freddy and Sophie and their daughters.” She continued.
