Nick Viol Questions August Blake Lively Smear Campaign Allegations
Amid the wave of Blake Lively backlash over the August release of her film “It Ends with Us,” “Bachelor Nation” native Nick Viall has been asking tough questions.
In a newly resurfaced clip from his podcast The Viall Files, Viall questioned why director Justin Baldoni hired crisis PR manager Melissa Nathan in August. Viol noted that Nathan had previously represented Johnny Depp, who was in a legal battle with Amber Heard. This PR team was very critical of Amber Heard on the Internet,” Viol said on the podcast. 'This PR team has trashed Amber Heard all over the Internet.'
Viall added that Lively's reputation as “difficult to work with” on set “doesn't explain” why key cast members unfollowed Baldoni on social media. The Bachelor alum added, “I'm always suspicious of people who are perfect and always say the right thing.” All I know is that every moment that Blake Lively has been disrespectful, the Internet has tried to find a justification for it.”
The podcaster's months-old comments have new relevance as news of Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni rocks the entertainment world; according to TMZ, Lively is suing her co-star for sexual harassment and creating a “hostile work environment.”
Meanwhile, Baldoni's attorney, Brian Friedman, released a statement to TMZ and other media outlets calling Lively's allegations “false, outrageous, and intentionally obscene with intent to publicly harm.”
