Katie Holmes Slams 'Dangerous' Rumors That Daughter Suri is in Trust from Tom Cruise
When it comes to her daughter, Katie Holmes has no patience for any hoax or allegation circulating on the Internet.
On Sunday, December 8, Holmes took to Instagram to deny reports that her daughter Suri Cruise inherited a large trust fund from her estranged father, Tom Cruise. It's a complete hoax,” Holmes wrote above a screenshot of the article. 'Daily Mail ...... Stop making stuff up,” she simply captioned her Instagram post, ”Enough.”
The Dawson's Creek icon also responded to a negative fan comment on the post, writing (via Us Weekly), “I'm not going to let you make this up. It's dangerous,” she continued.
The Daily Mail claimed, according to sources, that “a trust fund provided by Tom Cruise to be shared by daughter Suri Cruise when she turns 18 is part of the divorce agreement, and it is substantial.” She was allowed to take advantage of that when she turned 18 in April. The rest of the money will be available once she is in her thirties."[7
Earlier this year, Suri began attending Carnegie Mellon University and embarked on a major new chapter.
In an interview with Town & Country, Holmes reflected on her daughter's big move, saying, “I'm proud of her. Of course, I miss being around her, but I'm really proud of her and happy for her. I remember this age, this beginning. It's exciting to know who I am and it makes me happy to think about it because I loved those days."
On April 19, 2006, Suri Cruz was born. Holmes married Tom Cruise of Mission: Impossible in 2006 and filed for divorce in 2012. Holmes was awarded primary custody of Suri in the divorce settlement. Tom last saw his daughter in 2013, and they have reportedly been estranged ever since.
