Beyonce and Blue Ivy Match in Gold Gowns on Red Carpet for “Mufasa: The Lion King” Premiere
It's always a pleasure when the Bee Hive gets a rare moment on the red carpet. And last night, fans were treated to a stylish two-for-one opportunity when Beyoncé and daughter Blue Ivy Carter attended the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King in matching metallic gold gowns.
On December 9, the pop star took to Hollywood in a floor-length dress that was 100 percent Beyoncé. The glittery, form-fitting design featured a cut-out neckline, bustier-inspired cups, and a bold thigh-high slit that exposed her patent leather platform pumps.
A large amount of gold studs gave the gown an “Alien Superstar” vibe. Although it looked like an outfit from the Renaissance Tour (she wore a similar bodysuit for the 2022 show), Beyoncé's dress was a Balmain creation, a limited edition “Lion King” collaboration. Her stylist, Siona Turini, finished the look with round gold drop earrings that complemented the dress' spherical studs.
Naturally, Beyonce posed on the carpet alongside her daughter and co-star. While Beyonce's look was sultry and glamorous, Blue Ivy's look looked like something out of a Disney movie. She wore an iridescent liquid gold princess-style ball gown. Its extravagant design was fitted with a sweetheart neckline and a giant cupcake skirt
.
The mother-daughter moment spanned three generations, with Tina Knowles also in attendance. Jay-Z also attended with his family, making his first public appearance since he and Diddy were accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000.
Last night's event was Beyonce's first red carpet appearance throughout the entire year 2024; she has attended a few awards ceremonies, including trying on vintage Versace at the iHeart Radio Awards, but otherwise has repeatedly skipped steps.
