Blake Lively coordinates a butter yellow Chanel bag with a sequined suit from Sergio Hudson's first menswear collection.
The secret to a coveted designer wardrobe is twofold: rare vintage and brand new runways. In the fashion world, the single greatest flex is to tap into the designer's archives (hence the vintage craze on the red carpet). Blake Lively, however, accomplished both in the same look.
On December 11, Lively attended the 2024 Beauty Inc. awards, dressed from head to toe in the popular summer trend colors. She styled a sequined button-down with butter yellow pants. The pastels were a surprising choice, given that chocolate brown and rich burgundy are considered the hottest colors of the season.
Her two-piece set was from the Sergio Hudson runway, which just debuted at the Spring 2025 show last September. The designer has focused on womenswear in the past, but this collection marks his first foray into menswear.
Lively's corset in particular was the hero of the new line. He made his debut as a male model, styled with suede loafers and a banana yellow belt.
Off the runway, actor It Ends With Us opted for a more feminine styling. She partially unbuttoned her top and paired it with floral print Louboutin pumps covered in iridescent pointed spikes. Her bag, meanwhile, was a Chanel double-flap quilted bag, which, like her shirt, was coated in sequins.
Although these Sergio Hudson designs are not yet in stores, they are already very popular among celebrities. Beyonce, for example, wore the womenswear version to Glamour magazine's Women of the Year event in October, wearing a pale yellow knit T-shirt and silk maxi skirt from the show.
The push for pastel colors was an ongoing theme this fall. Just days before Beyoncé wore a monotone “fit,” Katie Holmes stepped out in New York wearing a butter yellow turtleneck and coat. Rihanna, too, made the springy hue appropriate for the colder months with a plush teddy coat and satin pumps.
