Kate Middleton Gives Kids a Normal Christmas with Simple Christmas Decorations
“The Royal Family Really Is Like Us” Revealed Today: apparently Prince William and Kate Middleton's children are celebrating Christmas in a surprisingly normal way. [But according to former royal butler Grant Harold, the Princess of Wales is actively trying to ensure that her children are typical children around Christmas. One of the ways she often does this to bring a sense of normalcy into royal court life is with cute, kitschy Christmas decorations, such as the “Santa Stops Here” signs.
“I would never rule it out, as William and Kate do,” Harold said of decorations like the aforementioned Santa signs in a recent interview with The Sun. 'They're fun. They have a sense of humor. They're very family oriented. I can almost guarantee that there will be something that says, 'Santa, please stop here.'” [For Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, Harold insisted that it's not just the popular decorations that are normal at Christmas.
“They'll put stockings by the fireplace, mince pies, and milk for the reindeer,” he added. 'I have no doubt they will do exactly the same thing we do. The kids and their Christmases are just like every other kid in this country. Well, most children in this country,” he said. [At last year's “Together At Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey, Welsh children were photographed sending letters to Santa, proving to the world how normal their Christmases are.
As The Sun noted, the older royals also have incredibly down-to-earth Christmas customs, like watching Will's relatable favorite Christmas movie, Elf.
“It's so funny, I keep watching it every Christmas. It still makes me laugh,” he said while speaking to a group of young patients at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
