Jennifer Lopez's skin-tight Crystal gown lights up the entire room at IndieWire Awards
Jennifer Lopez doesn't necessarily need anバ80,000 Birkin bag on her arm or a leopard print coat on her shoulder to look very rich. A tight gown of skin dripping into crystals can also do the trick.
Accepting the Maverick Award for her role in Unstoppable, Jennifer Lopez attended on May 12. Wearing a dress that shone like a diamond vault, she won 5 IndieWire Awards at Citizen News in Los Angeles. The cut was made by J.Lo was quite conservative compared to the naked dresses usually preferred — with mock necks and long sleeves, skirts grazing the floor - but a semi-sheer bodice and hugging body meanwhile, the crystal mesh all over brought the middle aughts KiraKira filter to mind - in every photo, it glows absolutely.
With an almost dizzying glow covering her entire figure, Lopez did not have to go overboard in the beauty and accessories department. She added a pair of delicate drop earrings surrounded by shiny punk and a touch of highlighter on the cheeks. A naked manicure by nail artist Tom Bachik adorned her newly submitted fingertips (better to show off against her first trophy of the awards season). A photo of Lopez walking to the podium for her acceptance speech showed that her stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Hahn chose a pair of sky・high gold platforms to complete the look.
Lopez won the trophy for portraying Robles of the 7th Month, the mother of the wrestler Anthony Robles. As her dress shimmered under the stage lights, she gave an emotional speech.
"This award really holds a special place in my mind, and I looked into it, I wanted to have a real definition, okay" It says "I can go on but I'm not going to." But seriously, to chart your own course, beautiful things to be recognized for nothing."
These remarks also seem to summarize Lopez's approach to the red carpet as she promotes unstoppable things this year. She ignores the broader trend and leans further into her signature, from mirrored revenge dresses to cut-out-laced metal gowns. That, to me, is the heretic definition of style.
