Whenever I'm at a loss for what to do with my manicure, I always turn to Hollywood hands for nail trend inspiration. These are celebrities who have world-renowned manicurists at their fingertips. Plus, there are plenty of opportunities to show off fresh paint on the red carpet. This week alone, Selena Gomez set the stardust nail trend with Tom Bachik's dreamy iridescent polish, and I got a new idea when Hailey Bieber replaced her usual almond tips with a delicious burgundy mani. So, to cure my serious nail envy, I scanned hundreds of manicures to find the manicure colors that celebrities reach for most often.

In my search, I learned that celebrities can make a moment out of any nail color. Look at Jennifer Lopez's electric blue neon manicure in summer or Selena Gomez's orange Julius Jelly tips. Of course, fall's classic nail colors and muted shades are also common on celebrities' nails. Behind the moody red and bubble bath manicure trends, there are plenty of famous fans.

If there is such a thing as a “nail fluencer,” it would be Haley Bieber. Every time the new mom or her longtime nail artist, Zora Ganzoligt, posts on Instagram, we admire the new details. While it's hard to name a top five of Bieber's best nails of all time, the Lord University founder has tried almost every color and fall manicure trend under the sun, but there are a few nail polishes she wears repeatedly.

For starters, Bieber practically originated the Glazed Donut manicure and has re-worn the pale rainbow hue many times. Then she sparked another trend with a butter yellow manicure at a summer baby shower. And in recent fall, Bieber favors deeper shades like maple leaf brown and blackberry navy blue.

With a glamorous personal style like Jenny From the Block, one can expect her manicures to be just as glamorous. With the help of her regular manicurist, Tom Bacik, J.Lo prefers nails in subdued colors. For example, for her “This Is Me Now” nails, she tried pink Swarovski crystals on nude tips, and for her Bridgerton-themed 55th birthday, she incorporated silver stickers. When it comes to Jennifer Lopez, nude manicures are never just minimalist.

The manicure of Selena Gomez, founder of Rare Beauty, is by no means an afterthought. Like Jennifer Lopez, she also works with Bacik to skillfully match her nails to her red carpet gown. For example, Gomez's glamorous nails for the 2024 Emmys were color coordinated with glittery peach tips and lipstick. She also wore a trendy naked manicure while doing press for Emilia Perez in New York.

On the other side of the spectrum, Gomez has embraced her dark side with moody shades ranging from subdued red (which took Bachik 40 minutes to custom-make) to jet black and eggplant, so you know she is not afraid to switch it up.

In 2014, Zendaya tweeted. “If you see me and my nails aren't done . That's not me.” Ten years later, that philosophy has not changed. Zendaya, who works with longtime nail artist Marina Dobik, is a big fan of the red trend, opting for an unexpected maroon manicure in the summer and regularly turning to bright cherry polish. When the Challengers star isn't wearing red, she seems to be wearing just barely pink, like her manicure during “Dune: Part Two”: a press manicure for Dune: Part Two, or her bubble bath nails at the 2024 Olympics.

Swift fans know that Taylor Swift loves to make the whole thing sparkle: glittery eyeshadow, glittery freckles, manicures. So you can almost always expect to see Swift wearing sparkly polish on her fingertips. Nail artist Lisa Peña Wong has worked with Swift for more than three years, creating sparkly manicures to complement her Eras tour outfits. The Reputation singer has worn peachy colors for the AFC Championships, traditional metallic gold for her date with Travis Kells at Electric Lady Studios, long glittery manicures for the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, and the list goes on and on! The list is endless.
