Love is Blind” Season 8: Everything We Know
“Love is Blind” Season 7 returns on October 30, making it clearer than ever that the Netflix franchise is the ultimate guilty pleasure reality show. While some fans expected this season, set in Washington, D.C., to be less contentious than the previous season (or even a breath of fresh air a la “Love is Blind: UK”), the cast of season 7 offered more discourse than romance, with Taylor and Garrett, only one couple got married, and the season ended without scandal.
Despite the off-screen controversies and legal challenges between the couples, millions of viewers continue to tune in each season. Below, we document everything we learned about “Love is Blind” Season 8.
That's right. At the “Love is Blind” Season 7 reunion, hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey confirmed that the dating show has been renewed for an eighth installment. Netflix also announced the news on Tudum.
Given the show's success, Season 7 was in the top 10 most watched shows on streaming; Netflix also often has a new season already in production or already filmed and ready to go when LIB is airing.
Netflix revealed through Tudum that “Love is Blind” season 8 will premiere on February 14, 2025. In the past, episodes have been distributed over several weeks. We speculate that all pod versions will be delivered on V-Day, with the remainder of the season being delivered during February and early March.
The first air date of February 14, 2025 checks out, as LIB is a twice-yearly pillar of the streaming giant's non-scripted slate. (For example, “Love is Blind” Season 6 premiered on Valentine's Day, 2024, and Season 7 debuted in early October.
The setting of each season of Love is Blind is often kept strictly under wraps until a month or two before release, but this time it has already been announced where the Season 8 romantic hopefuls are from; Season 8 of LIB will feature singles from the Minneapolis/St. Minnesota Paul area will feature singles. The Lachaises revealed the location during the Season 7 reunion.
Some fans already suspected that the Twin Cities was where the reality hit was headed. Minneapolis/St. Paul was included in a casting call posted on Instagram in 2023 by the show's production company, Kinetic Connect. We'll have to see how “Minnesotan” and nice the cast is.
While the setting for Season 8 is confirmed, there may be more seasons of LIB set in other metropolitan areas. For example, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Denver, Colorado, and Washington, D.C. (the setting for Season 7) were included in the casting call. Axios Denver reported that several golden goblets were spotted at a popular local eatery in March 2024. In addition, several Redditors claim that the show was being filmed in Scottsdale, Arizona, around September or October 2023, just a few months after Kinetic posted the Phoenix casting notice.
Other cities included in the recent Love is Blind casting notice, if you're really interested in keeping track (or hoping to find Love on TV), are Atlanta, Georgia (which apparently gets a round two after being featured in season one), Columbus, Ohio; Miami, Fla. and the New England area. There were also openings in Tampa, Florida; Detroit, Michigan; and Nashville, Tennessee.
In a new and surprising move, Netflix has already introduced a handful of people it hopes to marry in Season 8. The LIB Season 7 reunion featured three cast members from the upcoming Minneapolis episode, two men, Alex and Joey, and a woman named Brittany.
The smiling trio didn't say much, but Alex opened up about why he's struggling to find the man of his dreams and the Twin Cities dating scene. He shared, “I personally prioritized other things in my life, like work, friends, and travel.”
The Season 8 participant added, “This is a very small community. It's not a big city, but it's not a small town either, so you meet the same people over and over and there are little bars. I just couldn't find anyone that fit me."
A participant in Season 8 said, ”I just couldn't find anyone that fit me.
No comment from Joey or Brittany, and no word yet on who else will be joining the pod, but keep an eye out for any news in the weeks leading up to the first Valentine's Day broadcast.
