What was Prince George's first nickname?

It's hard to believe that Prince George, who turned 11 this summer, was the size of a fruit. But what an adorable nickname Kate Middleton and Prince William have given their first child.

If you've ever been pregnant, you're probably familiar with the weekly apps that show you the size of your baby compared to foods like limes and strawberries. Given that, it is especially fitting that royal biographer Robert Jobson, in his book “The New Royal Family,” refers to the Prince and Princess of Wales as “Little Grape” to George.

According to Jobson, Prince William was serving in the Royal Air Force at the time and “took two weeks of parental leave from the Air Force to bond with the baby, who was nicknamed ‘our little grape.’”

A royal writer noted that William followed in the footsteps of his father, King Charles, who “was considered progressive in wanting to be by his wife's side” when his child was born.

“Little Grape” George was born on July 22, 2013 and introduced to the public outside St. Mary's Hospital in London, but a few years later he would earn another kitchen-themed nickname.

According to the Mirror, Prince George began being called “PG” while attending Thomas Battersea School in London, and the nickname followed him to his new home in Windsor, where he attended Lambrook School.

However, PG evolved into something rather British, with classmates calling him PG Tips, a popular brand of tea in the UK. A source told the paper, “Some kids hate nicknames, but George is understood to love his nickname and regularly goes by ‘Tips’ with his classmates and family.”

As for her other siblings, the Mirror reported that Princess Charlotte is called “Lottie Wales” by her school friends, but is also called “Lottie” by her mother and “Mignonette” by Prince William.

Six-year-old Prince Louis is also often called “Lou Buggs” by his family, proving that the royals are not content with cute nicknames.
