An “unusual” hobby enjoyed by Queen Camilla until tragedy struck in 2024.
Much has been written about the hobbies enjoyed by members of the Royal Family. For example, Tom Parker Bowles, son of Queen Camilla, said that his mo...
Read MoreAs everyone learned on the press tour for “Wicked,” at any given moment someone may be holding space for the lyrics to “Defying Gravity” - including Timothée Chalamet and Elle Fanning.
The stars of the new Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown” joined Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo to meet the reporter (Tracy Gilchrist) who brought new meaning to the phrase “Holding Space.” They were totally impressed. So much so that they had their fingers crossed about it.
“I'm star struck to see you come in,” Fanning exclaimed, and Chalamet gave her the finger, causing the audience to giggle.
“It's an honor to speak with you. It's a silly, perfect moment that shows how ubiquitous the Ariana and Cynthia meme has become.
If you somehow clicked on this article without understanding the context, first of all, how and why? And what is it like to be chronically disconnected from the Internet like the rest of us? Does the air smell sweeter? Does the sky shine bluer?
Sorry, sorry, I digress. But if you missed the “hold space” moment we're talking about and don't know what's going on... We'll explain.

Gilchrist previously stated that this moment was going to be a segue into a larger question, but the circumstances of the moment made it more meme Gilchrist has previously stated that he intended this moment to be a segue into a larger question, but the circumstances of the moment moved it in a more meme-able direction.
For those who have never attended a press junket (I have, at this point, attended hundreds), press junkets are a particularly strange setup. You wait in a hotel hallway for hours, then pop into a room within 5 minutes and ask as many questions as you can to the waiting actors/writers/directors. You're lit by hot lights, and several crew members and studio press people (plus the hair and makeup people) are crammed into a small hotel room with you and the people you're interviewing. Everyone is there for hours, and the talent often answers variations of the exact same questions over and over.
In short, it's like a ticking time bomb where something ridiculous or pointless happens. Especially when there is miscommunication, or misunderstanding of the question (ask me about the time I interviewed Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson for the film “Rapture-Palooza”).
Either way, it's a wild, rushed process. And really, what could be better than the crappy memes that come out of it all?
