Lana Del Rey has spoken out about her relationship with new husband Jeremy Dufrene, who had a surprise wedding last week.

The singer posted a video on Instagram taken with Dufrene in New Orleans on Wednesday, blaming local paparazzi for allegedly hounding the newlyweds.

She then added, more happily, “Jeremy is one-of-a-kind. And wonderful. And we're so happy."

Del Rey recently shocked fans when news broke that she had married Dufrene, an alligator tour guide in Louisiana in 2019, after only dating publicly for a few months.

“They first met for the first time a few years ago and reunited earlier this year,” a source told People last week.

They continued. “Jeremy is not like the men Lana meets in the entertainment world. He's a wonderful guy. He has Southern charm and charisma, he is very gentlemanly, and he treats Lana very well. She has an old soul.”

Dufrene's ex, Kelli Welsh, admits that she is “shocked” at how quickly their relationship has developed, but congratulates the new couple.

“I'm shocked because we were engaged for 12 years and he got married in a month,” Welsh told the Daily Mail. 'But I'm happy for him. He's a very protective, hard-working, manly man. He needed to get out of his comfort zone. He was used to living in the bayou and being in the swamp. He deserves this blessing.”

Welsh and Dufrene parted ways in October 2023. The airboat captain was previously married to his former wife, Gina, with whom he had two sons and a daughter. This was Del Rey's first marriage.
