Princess Kate and Prince William “treat themselves” to a weekend without the kids.

On Sunday, September 22, Princess Kate went out for the first time since completing chemotherapy. The princess was photographed arriving at the Clarty Kirk Church near Balmoral Castle in Scotland, the royal residence. And according to new reports, Kate Middleton and Prince William traveled to Scotland over the weekend without their three children.

Kate attended a church service with King Charles and Queen Camilla. William and Kate's three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, did not attend. As reported by the Daily Mail, the Prince and Princess of Wales “enjoyed a weekend in Scotland without their children.”

The paper reported that the two royals “spent a few days at Balmoral in the Highlands, the monarch's private estate.”

It has been a difficult year for the royal family since Princess Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024. Since then, Princess Kate has made only a handful of public appearances with her family.

Earlier this month, the Crown Princess released an intimate Instagram video in which she revealed that she had completed preventive chemotherapy.

“As summer draws to a close, how relieved I am to finally be done with chemotherapy,” she wrote in the caption.

“The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for us as a family,” Kate continued.

“Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we have had to find our way through rough waters and unknown paths.”

“The cancer journey is complicated, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those close to you,” she explained.

“Being humbled forces you to confront your vulnerabilities in ways you may not have considered before, and that gives you a new perspective on everything.”
