Travis Kelsey had serious imposter syndrome when he met his girlfriend Taylor Swift and Prince William

Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and three-time Super Bowl participant, suffered from severe Imposter Syndrome™ when he met Prince William backstage at girlfriend Taylor Swift's “Eras Tour” concert in London.

In a recent interview with Extra, the NFL star's beloved mother, Donna Kells, spoke about how her son felt when he met the future King of England and two of his three children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

“[Travis] said, 'When you meet people like that, when you meet royalty, when you meet Paul McCartney and Hugh Grant, ...... somebody's in the suite, I'm like, 'Who doesn't fit this picture? 'Why am I here and why am I even allowed to talk to these people?'

Ever the supportive parent, she went on to believe that even though her son feels out of place between the pop world and British royalty, “he is coping well.”

“He's a pretty friendly guy,” Donna Kells added.

In an earlier episode of his hit, multi-million dollar podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Kelce shared in his own words what it was like to meet members of the royal family.

“He was the coolest. He was the best,” the athlete said of Prince William. “[They were] an absolute pleasure to meet."

”He was a great guy.

The tight end went on to say that despite Prince William's honesty, he did not know how to properly address the royal family or his children.

“I didn't know whether to bow, curtsy, or be an American idiot and shake hands,” he once explained to his brother Jason Kells.

Of course, Kells is no stranger to understatement. At Swift's London show, the NFL star appeared on stage with his girlfriend, much to the delight of Swiffies around the world. The athlete, terrified that he might accidentally drop his girlfriend, or even drop her in front of the rest of the world, pulled off the surprise performance to perfection.

Kelsey is not the most influential pop star on the planet or a member of the royal family, but he has certainly expanded his so-called empire far beyond the football field.

Kelce is not only playing his 12th season with the Kansas City Chiefs, he has also appeared on Ryan Murphy's FX series “Grotesquerie” and on the new game show “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?”
