Shailene Woodley hints at the reason for her breakup with Aaron Rodgers in a rare comment about her personal life.

Shailene Woodley recently revealed how a broken heart has shaped who she is today, sparking speculation that she was referring to her breakup with former fiancé and NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In a new interview with Bustle to promote her film Three Women, the 32-year-old actress reportedly said she has “no interest in faking it” and that it was the result of a “broken heart.” Woodley added that she is not the same person after a broken heart.

“I'm giving my all,” the actress explained. 'Before, if you defied me and belittled it, I was the one who kept on giving. And now, if you defy me, I respectfully say, 'I really appreciate that information. Have a wonderful life. I wish you happiness.' I'm not interested.”

Woodley did not give details about who was involved in the heartbreak that changed her life, but speculation quickly pointed to Rogers: the two first tied the knot in the summer of 2020, became engaged in February 2021, and eventually split a year later, in February 2022.

“I love easily and care easily, but I do not love lightly and I do not care lightly. It really took me a lot of time to realize that it's not my role to fix [the relationship] or heal it or do anything about it other than protect the deep compassion and love I have for the world and its people.”

While heartbreak may have changed Woodley, she seems to be focused on the change being for the better.

“Ultimately, it helped me walk away without having to figure out why certain things didn't play out the way I wanted them to,” she added.
