Kate Middleton released an intensely personal video on Monday, September 9, announcing that she had finished chemotherapy, and while her cancer battle was moving, fans couldn't help but notice one sweet and relatable moment in the video.

In one scene of the Welsh family playing on the beach, Prince William leans in to kiss his wife, much to Princess Charlotte's dismay.

The 9-year-old princess opens her mouth in shock and puts on a jovial face while her brother Prince Louis kneels on the nearby beach after their father pokes the Princess of Wales.

“Princess Charlotte is all kid when she sees her parents kissing lol she is too funny,” one royal watcher wrote on X. 😂💜"A second fan captioned the photo and video showcasing the royal family's shocking reaction.

A third fan joked on X that “Princess Charlotte's face is the whole vibe,” adding, “Very embarrassing mom and dad!” He added.

Aside from the “embarrassing” parental moment, the video showed fans a personal side of the Welsh family that royal watchers rarely get to see, from the family playing in the woods to participating in a card game with Princess Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

One royal expert told Us Weekly that this more intimate approach to social media is evidence that the couple “make their own rules.”

“I think it's unique and deeply moving,” British commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told the magazine, adding that “actually showing intimacy” is an “exception” to the typical royal rule.

“It reminds me of the Queen's comment, ‘Well, protocol is rubbish,’” he continued.

As for Princess Charlotte, perhaps there should be a little more protocol when it comes to PDAs.
