Are Leah Kateb and Miguel Haraichi of Love Island USA still dating?
Spoilers ahead for all episodes of Love Island USA Season 6. Every year, “Love Island USA” brings together dozens of gorgeous bachelorettes who throw themselves at the chance of love. Season 6 of this hit dating reality show, which moved to Peacock this summer, stood out in the crowded summer TV landscape thanks to its stellar cast and new host, Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Maddix, and millions of viewers cheered on their favorite couples. By the July 21 finale, it had become the most-watched streaming reality series, and after a month of romantic drama, two couples were competing for the $100,000 prize: Selina Paige and Cordell Beckham, and Leah Taylor and Miguel Haraichi.
The latter pair, a California girl and a dashing Brit, went through a lot on their way to the finale, but ultimately found each other among many couplings. Now fans are eagerly awaiting news on whether their relationship will work out outside of the villa. Read on for everything we know so far about Leah and Miguel's relationship.
Leah Kateb, a 24-year-old of Persian heritage who grew up in Bell Canyon, California, was the original Islander to enter the Villa on day one. She had been on the show for nine full days before 27-year-old Londoner Miguel Harici dropped the bombshell. Both were in other couples when he arrived, but Leah and Miguel were eventually paired up after breaking up with their previous matches, Connor Newsom and Liv Walker, respectively.
Leah and Miguel worked well together, but when the male and female contestants split mid-season for “Casa Amor,” they faced confusion. Leah remained single during “Casa Amor,” but Miguel chose to remarry newcomer Sierra Mills, unaware that Leah was waiting for him. Still, Miguel and Sierra were not supposed to hook up, and he and Leah were able to work things out and were matched again after only one re-coupling.
Leah and Miguel stayed together until the season 6 finale, where they were chosen as one of the final two couples. They finished the season in second place, with Selina and Cordell taking the title.
Before Miguel, Leah had quite a spark with Robert “Rob” Rausch, 25, from Florence, Alabama, who returned for season 6 after not having much luck as a Casa Amor addition during season 5. Leah paired up with Rob in the first coupling, making them one of the strongest couples early on, but it wasn't all smooth sailing between the two. Rob went on a wandering trip and temporarily recoupled with bombshell Liv before returning to Leah a few days later.
Rob eventually left Leah again for newcomer Andrea Carmona a day before Miguel entered the villa. Rob was then paired with six girls throughout the show, and some fans hoped to see him and Leah again until Rob was eliminated just before the finale. Still, he and Leah left the show as very good friends, even sharing a touching moment before he left the villa.
“I'm really worried about you. I really want you to be happy. I know things didn't work out in our romantic relationship, but I hope we can be friends forever,” Rob said before leaving the show.
Leah responded by sharing similar sentiments. She said, “I swear to God, like, like, in my dog's life, like, I always cared about you, I always wanted the best for you, and I always will.”
Rob was cheering for Leah in the days before the finale; in a clip shared on Love Island USA's official Instagram, Rob named Leah and Miguel as this season's winners. 'Leah and I didn't get along, but I think she's a really great person and I'm sure USA thinks so too. I can see her putting Miguel in her backpack.
Since Love Island USA airs almost simultaneously with filming, it's only been a few days since Leah and Miguel's life after the show began; after the finale aired on July 21, Leah and Miguel got their phones back and exchanged greetings on Instagram Stories, They also re-shared a cute couple edit created by a fan. The cute couple is still alive and well, and they even have exciting plans for after the finale.
In an interview with host Maddix shared on Love Island USA's Instagram, Miguel said he is looking forward to visiting Leah's farm in L.A.
. 'I feel like we have a really good vibe going on and I'm excited to see how it all turns out.'
Leah continued to open up about their relationship during an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast; in an interview that aired on July 26, she raved about her new boyfriend.
“He literally changed my experience there. He's one of my favorite people I've ever met,” she said.
“Even if he had been my friend, I would have been happy just for his awesomeness.”
Leah had more positive things to say about Miguel, adding, “He's a very good person. It's very organic, and that's what I like about both of us.”
