An “unusual” hobby enjoyed by Queen Camilla until tragedy struck in 2024.
Much has been written about the hobbies enjoyed by members of the Royal Family. For example, Tom Parker Bowles, son of Queen Camilla, said that his mo...
Read MoreWimbledon's all-white dress code may only apply to the players on the court, but spectators sometimes abide by the rules in true fandom spirit, and on Tuesday, July 9, cheering on the players in the stands, a bright floral dress gave a unique twist to the uniforms of was Princess Beatrice of York.
On day nine of the tournament, Princess Beatrice was photographed with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. She wore a white printed lace shirtdress from Monique Lhuillier's Spring 2024 Prêt-à-Porter collection; the $3,295 gown featured a button-down top with elbow-length sleeves and collar, a built-in belt that tied at the waist, and a flared, scalloped midi The skirt featured a flared, scalloped midi skirt. Beatrice's dress featured brightly colored floral patterns in pinks, blues, and greens against white lace.
Not much was visible below the skirt, but Beatriz wore a combination of silver and gold bracelets and carried a raffia straw mini clutch in her hand. Glamorous, she wore her light brown hair in a loose half up, half down style. Makeup was kept simple with black eyeliner and a neutral pink lip.
Beatrice's participation in the 2024 Wimbledon Championships means that the Royal Family will be away from the annual tennis tournament. So far, no senior members of the Royal Family have attended the event, but the appearance of Princess Beatrice could possibly signal their return to the stands in the coming days. Princess Kate hopes to attend this weekend's Wimbledon final once she is feeling better during her cancer treatment. Princess Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, attended the fourth day of Wimbledon last Thursday.
Beatrice also showed her support for London's biggest tennis tournament on Wednesday, July 3, when she attended an after-party co-hosted by tennis star Maria Sharapova in a black leather jacket. But it was Roksanda's turquoise blue long-sleeved shirt and color-blocked midi skirt that stood out in her look that evening.
Wimbledon was not the only time Beatriz showcased her affinity for floral patterns. If there is one thing Beatrice has proven this summer alone, it is that she loves her wardrobe staples, and dainty prints are a big part of it. The classic pattern, which frequently appears in her sister Princess Eugenie's wardrobe, has appeared in a variety of fun shapes and silhouettes this season.
Last week, Princess York was spotted in London attending the Mr. Brainwash art presentation at Claredon Fine Art and Jack Barclay Bentley. There, she showed off an understated floral print in a mauve and chalk gown by The Kooples. This semi-sheer dress had long sleeves and a fluffy skirt. She paired it with Kurt Geiger beige pumps.
Princess Beatrice also wore back-to-back flowers at Royal Ascot in 2024. She paired them with Roger Vivier heels and a Juliet Millinery floral applique headpiece inspired by Princess Kate.
This summer marks the peak of the high-luxe tennis core fashion trend, thanks to this year's hit movie Challengers, among others. Princess Beatrice is proving that nothing is more appropriate than florals to elevate the tennis look, whether you are a player or a spectator.
