Ashley Graham subverts the classic white sundress with a semi-sheer crochet.

After a whirlwind Paris Haute Couture Week, Ashley Graham is finally back to her usual street style. In today's sighting, Graham proved that the only way to beat the heat and humidity of a New York summer is with a translucent crocheted sundress.

On Wednesday, July 10, Graham stopped by Ulta in Midtown for a private event. She was captured heading into the store wearing a white crocheted midi dress by Simkhai. Priced at $1,295, the dress has a wavy crochet pattern embroidered over a translucent lace lining.

The original silhouette has thin straps, but Graham appears to have removed them and tucked them into the bodice to emphasize the sweetheart neckline and create a strapless finish.

The 36-year-old also kept her accessories simple. She wore no jewelry except for a simple pair of gold hoop earrings. She also wore white Miu Miu rectangular sunglasses and completed the look with white gold chain sandals from Jacums.

Graham's New York street style sighting came a few weeks after she was last seen at Paris Haute Couture Week; in June, she attended the Balenciaga show and made her way to the front row in a black slit gown. In true Balenciaga fashion, she paired the dress with an oversized blazer and strappy heels for a subversive look.

Graham's recent look simultaneously embraced the season's two biggest trends: sheer fabrics and breezy sundresses. The sheer fabric trend is nothing new, but it has remained popular among celebrities over the past few years because it is breathable and bold. Not only has the sheer trend of lace, mesh, and see-through fabrics been photographed on the catwalk numerous times, but many stars, from Kendall Jenner to Hailey Bieber, have embraced the trend as a regular part of their wardrobes, especially as a standalone piece.

Graham's expertise in high fashion clearly It led to the Graham proves that there is nothing better than making a fashion statement with just one piece.
