While it looked as if everyone (or rather, the algorithm) had graduated from the tomato girl summer trend, supermodel Emily Rutakowski's latest street style proved that she is just getting started. What's more, she accidentally pulled out a sub-$100 version of her go-to look: sundresses and sneakers.

Latakowski spent Monday, July 1, in New York City with friends. While out in Manhattan, she was photographed wearing a printed asymmetrical slip dress by Miaou. Upon closer inspection, the brand's fun silhouette featured bright red tomatoes and colorful canned food graphics throughout.

Now, here the author of My Body gets creative with her favorite styling trick: she paired the fitted mini dress with statement sneakers. In this case, she's wearing green Reebok Club C 85s. These shoes normally cost $90, but Ratakowski's green shoes are currently marked down to about $60.

She further accessorized her afternoon look with a simple camel-colored leather shoulder bag, a stack of gold necklaces including a choker, and a pair of yellow cat-eye sunglasses.

It wasn't long ago that Rutakowski pulled out her trusty outfit formula for another street style occasion. The last time she referenced her street style file was in late May, when she contrasted a boho, semi-sheer white mango sundress with cheerful red Puma Speed Cat sneakers and the same cat-eye sunglasses.

Ratakowski is a legitimate exponent of the "tomato girl summer" trend made famous on TikTok. Inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle, this look is all things retro. From breezy linens to raffia baskets, the look is all about making a trip to the coastal region both real and imagined. Of course, the trend also includes literal tributes to food, especially fruits, vegetables, and tomatoes.

Supermodels have taken the trend even further by blending their adoration of vibrant kicks into fashion for 2024.
