Princess Beatrice re-wears 2015 Royal Ascot outfit at Wimbledon after-party

Outfit repurposing is thriving in the British royal family. This week, Princess Beatrice repurposed an old style with exciting new results.

Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, stopped by the Wimbledon after-party at The Twenty Two restaurant in London on July 3, co-hosted by tennis star Maria Sharapova. While Mozzi was dressed in menswear staples (white button-down, pants, and driving loafers), Princess Beatrice opted for bold and familiar color blocking.

The royal wore a long-sleeved turquoise blue top layered with a black leather jacket and a crepe midi skirt embellished with oversized polka dots. Gray heels and a black top-handle bucket bag completed her colorful going-out look.

It didn't take much research to discover that Princess Beatrice's Easter egg-colored shirt and skirt were from Roxanda, a label founded by a woman known for its bold colors and sculptural forms. Unlike the royal family's recent floral midi dresses and business casual patterned dresses, this particular look is almost nine years old and therefore not available for purchase.

The first time Princess Beatrice wore both a top and a skirt was at Royal Ascot in 2015. On that occasion, she paired a black Nereida Fryman fascinator with one of the skirt's oversized dots and completed the outfit with geometric black heels.

Today, Princess Beatrice opted for a more relaxed styling. A leather jacket tamed the sweetness of the skirt's color, while gray heels grounded the full look. Unlike Ascot, hats are not a dress code at the Wimbledon get-together.

Dress repetition is a common practice throughout the royal family, even endorsed by the late Queen Elizabeth II. Princess Kate modified an already owned Jenny Packham white dress for Trooping the Colour on June 15.

According to royal sources, the coordination of the dress and the tilted hat by Philip Treacy was not just a sustainable move. It was chosen for a specific reason. The brim of Kate's hat was tilted to partially conceal her face in the carriage."

For royal style watchers, there is another notable difference: unlike Princess Beatrice's archival outfit, Princess Kate's outfit can be shopped for in a similar fashion.
