Read MoreTennis great Serena Williams continues to dominate the fashion world.
On Thursday, June 13, she attended the world premiere of her new documentary In The Arena: Williams wore a Marilyn Monroe-inspired She wore a light pink halter corset dress by Dolce & Gabbana.
From a structured corseted bodice with a tulle halter overlay, the tennis star's dress extended to a knee-length blush skirt with a thigh-high slit. Williams expertly paired the dress with chunky peep-toe heels in light pink, a matching pink clutch bag, and a breathtaking drop necklace.
Williams arrived at the event in an all-over glamorous outfit, but she was there to highlight the less glamorous side of professional tennis.
"A lot of people only see the Grand Slam victories, trophies, and finals, but they never see the practice." They never see everything that goes into it."
She told Extra at the premiere.
Williams further explained that the film offers viewers "an intimate behind-the-scenes look at everything that happens" and that she "thought it was a really good story to tell."
According to the festival's website, the documentary "explores pivotal moments in Serena's life on and off the court, showing a series of steps that, in retrospect, demonstrate the incredible distance she has traveled over the course of her career."
According to Forbes magazine, Williams is one of the highest paid professional athletes of all time; she turned pro at the young age of 14 and has won 25 Grand Slam titles. She also revolutionized tennis fashion by using her historic partnership with Nike to push the boundaries of what women could wear to compete, in a match against her older sister Venus Williams.
"Seeing me and my sister look our best on the big stage at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, dressed like ourselves and looking fabulous, really changed the sport for women.
There is no denying Williams' dominance on the tennis court, but she has also become an undeniable fashion powerhouse on the red carpet. At this year's Met Gala, she looked like a golden goddess in a Balenciaga gown with a custom gold floral headpiece, cuff bracelet, gold ring, and black opera-length gloves by New York-based designer Jennifer Baer. (Talk about a look worthy of tennis royalty.) She then changed into a crocheted naked dress for the MET after-party.
After being named the CFDA's Fashion Icon of 2023, Williams said she has expressed herself through fashion since she was young.
"Fashion has given me the confidence to stand up on the court and be aware of who I am and where I am going," she continued.
"My dream of having my own brand, S by Serena, has become a reality, and throughout my career I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most established designers and some of the most exciting up-and-coming creatives."
Williams said she is "very proud to be a part of the S by Serena brand.
Williams continued, "I have really enjoyed learning my style and changing as my life has evolved.
