After yesterday's evening at the ballet, Holmes returned to fashion as usual - with a matching twist of mother and daughter. For a rainy day in New York City, she brought her daughter, Suri Cruise, for a walk, Cruise seems to have taken some cues from her parents' casual wardrobe.

During a daytime walk around Manhattan on Wednesday at 5.15 am, the Dawson's Creek alum was seen wearing a chunky oatmeal sweater layered under a beige lightweight trench coat. She styled her top with front seam buggy denim jeans (the silhouette she wore with her daughter a few weeks ago) and a pair of chunky black boots.

Holmes completed the outfit by coordinating a beige jacket with a Freja mini bag and black sunglasses.

Cruz was spotted by her side in a double denim moment, joining her mother in co-signing on to a rising yet timeless spring styling trick. The 18-year-old's outfit for the day consisted of a baggy medium-washed denim jacket lined with camel-colored corduroy collars, similar to the barn jacket Holmes wore last week. She also wears baggy jeans and brown Birkenstock clogs (another of her mom's favorite shoes), wearing a white T-shirt underneath.

Holmes and Cruz are making more casual appearances together following the latter's 18th birthday this year, and the mother-daughter duo are very close. In a 2023 interview with Glamour, Holmes talked about her daughter before her project, Rare Objects, was released.

"What was really important to me, because my daughter was so visible when she was young, is that I really want to protect her," Holmes explained. "I am a parent and I am very grateful to be her parent. She is an incredible person."
