Jennifer Lawrence, a modestly rich mom in a luxe sweater and $70 sneakers.

This season, Jennifer Lawrence subtly added fresh trends to her tried-and-true outfits. Cozy chic sweaters, wide-leg track pants, and butter yellow knits (this year's trending color) were all part of her understated rich mother. This weekend, the actress once again went back to basics, maintaining an understated yet stylish profile while out and about in New York City.

On Sunday, April 28, Lawrence took a casual stroll through Manhattan with her husband, Cook Maloney. Her outfit for the day began with a chunky black knit sweater. The exact credit has yet to be announced, but it would not be surprising if it was pulled from Mary-Kate and Ashley's brand, The Row. The slightly oversized top was worn in with gray straight-leg jeans and cinched at the waist with a black and silver belt from Celine.

No Hard Feelings added the ultimate comfort accessories to her look: black Vans sneakers, black oval sunglasses, and a red Polo Ralph Lauren cap taken from Princess Diana's fashion rule book.

Behind her, Maloney coordinated a gray crew neck sweatshirt, navy blue pants, and black sneakers.

Lawrence's understated dressing has always displayed both her personal style and her "chill" aura. However, her reliance on simple attire may be part of her recent uniform update as a fairly new mother. Like Katie Holmes, Lawrence is certainly a "New York mom," but she almost always wears relaxed pants, modest flat shoes, and a comfortable sweater.

That's not to say that Lawrence doesn't enjoy dressing for the occasion. A few weeks ago, the actress played with a handful of trends, like butter yellow, the hottest color for spring 2024. She styled a creamy yellow top with a button-up cardigan in a "shirt sandwich." She also swapped her jeans for track pants, adding a touch of flair to her casual outfit.
