Katie Holmes is tasting the spring street style trends like a fashion charcuterie. She tried on double denim, wore Birkenstocks in style, and even started the sneaker trend with her much-talked-about collaboration with Nike. But the runway-inspired marathon is worth pausing for true personal style.

On Wednesday, May 1, Holmes walked around Manhattan in an outfit from her "Dawson's Creek" days, a 90s black slip dress with spaghetti straps and a raspberry bra exposed underneath the dress.

As with her previous outfits, this slip dress and revealing bra combination showed off Holmes' relaxed side and gave onlookers a free-flowing style inspiration. There is nothing more nonchalant than lingerie peeking out from under a loose, flowing dress. All Holmes needed to look worthy of walking down the sidewalk was a small gold choker necklace and dainty sunglasses.

Holmes also hinted that the new accessory had earned repeat-wear status for the same look. On his feet, he wore the same blueberry-colored mary janes from Vibi Venezia that he had worn just a few days earlier. Holmes also carried what looked like a black Saint Laurent tote bag over her shoulder. (The actress and her stylist, Bree Welch, have yet to confirm exactly which brand was used for her casual attire.)

Dresses are not always common pieces in Holmes' style file. Lately, she has been shining on the shoe trend, pairing it with easy button-down shirts, crew-neck sweaters, and flowing pants. (For proof, check out her mule-painted top.)
