Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Canadian Vacation Made Possible by David Foster

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (opens in new tab) spent some much-needed family time away from the public eye during the holidays. Fans had assumed that the royal couple would go to the United States to spend the vacations with Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland (opens in new tab), but they surprised everyone by going instead to another place near and dear to them both: Canada.

Apparently they had to send a thank you card (preferably handwritten by Meghan) to producer David Foster for making this special trip possible.

The 70-year-old producer, whom the couple knows from his friendship with Meghan and his wife, Katharine McPhee (opens in new tab), revealed to the Daily Mail (opens in new tab) that he helped the Sussexes find a vacation home on Vancouver Island, Canada opens in new tab) that he helped the Sussexes find a vacation home on Vancouver Island, Canada.

"I was honored to help Megan there. Because I'm Canadian, we're a federal nation, and we belong to the royal family," Foster said. 'I grew up feeling that way because it's important to us. So I grew up feeling that way.

Foster claims that although he introduced Harry and Meghan (open in new tab) to vacation lodging, that does not mean he knows what's next on their jet-setting itinerary.

"The owner allowed this through me. I don't know what their next plans are, but I do know that having some downtime has been invigorating for them." The fact that they were able to stay underwater for so long is a great testament to Victoria, my home town."
