Amidst the looming World War III and the massive fires burning all over Australia, good news finally broke today: Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have had their first child, Radix Madden (opens in new tab).

Diaz, 47, would not say whether she gave birth to her daughter, used a surrogate, or adopted the child. However, she did reveal that she and her husband intend to protect the child's privacy by choosing not to share her photo.

"Happy New Year from the Madden family! We are so happy, blessed, and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter Radix Madden," Diaz shared in an Instagram post. She instantly captured our hearts and completed our family."

Diaz continued, " We are overjoyed to share this news, but we also feel a strong instinct to protect the privacy of our little one. So we won't post pictures or share any more details other than the fact that she is really, really cute and some would even say RAD!"

How the couple came up with the name "Radics" is unknown, but we have to admit that it is pretty rad. Madden and Diaz, best known as the lead guitarist of Good Charlotte, were married in 2015. Fun fact: Nicole Richie is married to Madden's twin brother, Joel.
