Update 1/18: Buckingham Palace has released an official statement detailing the next steps for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The statement confirms that Frogmore Cottage will remain their home in England and explains that both families wish to take over financial responsibility for the property.

Original post In a bombshell statement released Wednesday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they are effectively quitting the royal family. Their main residence in the UK, Frogmore Cottage, underwent a $3 million renovation (open with new tab) before Archie's birth.

The short answer: yes. Harry and Meghan's website (opens in new tab) was given a full-scale makeover in response to this news (opens in new tab), and Harry and Meghan have answered this question directly.

The Duke and Duchess chose to move out of their old home at Kensington Palace last year. At the time, there was speculation that Harry and Meghan's move from Kensington Palace (where Prince William and Kate Middleton live) was due to a rift between the Sussex and Cambridge families, but information posted on the Sussex Royal Family website cites another reason: renovation issues

Currently, the Sussex Royal family is moving to the new building.

Currently, Harry and Meghan employ a small team of staff (open in new tab) at Frogmore, but this will almost certainly change once they begin traveling between North America and the UK.
