Who is Peter's mother crying about in that touching clip?

Spoilers for "The Bachelor. In the trailer for "The Bachelor," Peter Weber is freaking out about something (even Reality Steve doesn't know how the show ends, so details are undetermined (opens in new tab)). Weber's mother, who is close to him, is crying in the video and says to her son: "Don't let that boy go. Don't let him go. Take him home. Take him home to us. Poor Weber looks really devastated, not knowing what to do, and the fans collectively say, "Wait, what?"

So the next question we all have is: Who the hell is she talking about? Why is she so upset? Has a mother ever played such an important role in who the Bachelor chooses?" (Technically, that's more than one question, but you get the idea.) Now, let me explain what we do know. Let me be the first to say that we don't know yet, but there are only a couple of possibilities.

Update 2/14: Based on everything we know (including a new additional clip in which Peter's mother adds this: "This is a love story. God put her there for you" - I have no proof, but I am comfortable that she is referring to Madison Prewett.

Why, you ask, is this so? Well, first, we know that everything is attributed to Prewett and fellow contestant Hannah Ann Sluss, spoiler alert, and ... Something happens that derails the normal ending (and judging by Chris Harrison and Weber's comments, the drama may not be over yet). (Open in new tab) Reality Steve's Theory" Prewett, a virgin, voluntarily leaves the show when Weber reveals that he had sex with another contestant (this is evidenced by clips of Prewett saying he is saving himself for marriage and that Weber was "intimate" with someone the previous week (This is evidenced by clips of Prewett telling contestants that he was "intimate" with someone the week before). Perhaps Weber explains to his mother that Prewett left the show, and Peter's mother tells him that he needs to "go and straighten things out."

Another piece of evidence, Weber's mother has already met Prewett when Prewett was present at Weber's parents' vow renewal in episode 1. His family was so attached to Prewett that Weber even gave him a framed family photo with her as a gift. And if Prewett makes it into the top two, she will probably spend more time with Weber's family - because the top two contestants always meet their parents.

This is my reasoning, and I'm sticking to it.

Update 2/11: Excuse me for putting on my detective hat. You can see an extended version of the clip we're obsessed with in the Hometown Date promo. In it, Peter's mother adds: "This is a love story. God put her there for you." And the old clip we saw before is replayed again - the emotional "Take her home, take her home to us."

It's from 2:20 below:

So for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, or want to relive the moment yourself, the moment happens at 2:10. In case you forgot, Weber is super close to his family, they all work or have worked in the airline industry, and his parents have been married for decades (Weber talks about it a lot). In other words, we saw their vow renewal in the first episode. They are important.

So he probably considers his family a really important part of his decision-making process. And this seems to be what is driving everything so far out of whack.

There is another potential piece of evidence, at least to me: Prewett was seen filming with a producer in her hometown of Auburn, Alabama. Now, this probably means one of two things: one, that Prewett and Weber were taken after the show ended because the show did not end in "typical" fashion. Perhaps he did not engage with anyone and went after Prewett like Colton Underwood.

Alternatively, it is possible that Prewett is being filmed for an early intro video for The Bachelorette. If Slass and Weber were to hook up, as Venmo's stalking suggests, Prewett would lose his spot in Bachelorette. The other top contestants, Weir and Fuller, have not had a particularly flattering image this past season, so it is unlikely that they are considered fan favorites.

Original Article We know that Weir's top two women - Hannah Ann Sluss (opens in new tab) and Madison Prewett (opens in new tab). We know that he is not engaged and that he will be with someone after the show ends. Whether his mother's words were before or after the last rose is undecided. If the latter, it may have influenced his decision to pursue one of them after the show.

There is some speculation that Hannah Brown will make a comeback. When Brown cried in episode 2 and suggested that Weber join her season to start over again, she and Weber clearly had unfinished business. (Opens in new tab) Episode 2 is apparently the last we see of Brown.

The confrontation may also have something to do with Victoria Fuller (opens in new tab), who seems to cause a lot of drama during the season in third place. We already know that she convinced Weber to bring her back to the show once around the time of the hometown date.
